Terence Murren is a String Bassist, Guitarist, Composer and veteran Teaching Artist. After 20 years of creative life in New York City he is now based out of the Hudson Valley where he continues to teach and create. Murren has taught both independently and through organizations including both teaching and writing curriculum for the 92nd Street Y’s Outreach program. He spearheaded and then helped run a Multidisciplinary Arts summer program in Brooklyn ten years. His teaching work has focused on underserved communities with a particular focus on special needs populations. He is constantly using his skills as an improvisor and his vast range of music to engage and create dynamic workshops. Murren delights in the connections and communities that teaching music creates.
